The sun will one day satisfy our energy needs in the same powerful and persistent way it touches every other facet of life. Until our ingenuity matches that potential, we are duty bound to harness the closest thing we have to an aurora on earth – nuclear power.
For the better part of three decades, the left’s dedication to environmental extremism, both side’s indulgence of crony capitalism, and our collective profligacy have successfully corrupted America’s energy policies. Resulting dependencies have made us increasingly vulnerable to a world full of despots, zealots, and other social predators.
The America Dream does not work without safe, reliable and affordable energy. Neither do we.
Nuclear power, at least in America, was long ago branded with a skull and crossbones poorly supported by truth. Cancers born out of sunburned trips to the beach have harmed infinitely more people than nuclear fission.
There are around 550 nuclear reactors in the world, most devoted to generating power or propulsion. Their record of safety, environmental impact, and efficiency persistently exceeds fossil fuel outlets. Of equal importance, this resource is not married to Middle East madness. The management of the rewards and risks remain in our own hands.
