Public supported broadcasting in America is a tax supplemented marketing arm for liberal socialism and the Democrat Party. It always will be.
Per the Pew Research Center study, 74 percent of NPR listeners described themselves as either liberal or moderate and 81 percent described themselves as either Democrats or Independents. There are reasons for that loyalty and conservative inclination to seek solace elsewhere.
For starters NPR borrows from the Joseph Goebbels propaganda handbook in exploiting language to promote liberal agendas. An example is the official NPR policy of referring to pro-life advocates as “abortion rights opponents.” Substituting imaginary conservative spin language like “opponents of the rights of the unborn” reveals the mind game and NPR’s journalistic deceit.
The fact that 90 percent of the political contributions made by NPR’s Board and Foundation members go to liberal and Democrat candidates also merits reflection. George Bernard Shaw’s quote, “A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.”, condenses the effort necessary to that reflection.
NPR claims that tax payers fund around 2 percent of their operation. Paying closer attention to the man behind the curtain reveals direct and indirect subsidies approximating 20 percent for the national organization and double that for local stations. They have no intentions of surrendering that binky or, of greater importance, the facade of representing the public good.
Speaking of revenue, many local governments market the notion that using mandatory cable fees to fund public stations is not a tax. If government forces money out of your pocket and applies it to a mission of their choice, it’s a tax. That includes funding public access outlets made obsolete by the internet.
The Pew bunch did another study. In surveying 222 journalists and news execs in the general media, only 8 percent considered themselves conservative. That might explain why federal records show the political contributions of journalists favor Democrats 15:1 over Republicans. Certainly partiality never leaks into their work, but with those numbers, a publicly supported liberal propaganda machine is overkill.
Public media’s dedication to the liberal agenda is assured for one reason – that’s where their paycheck originates. Republicans attempting sincerity to conservative principles will never be a reliable source of revenue or endorsement. NPR, PBS, and others use silver tongues to deny their liberal bias. A cursory study of human nature assures they will unfailingly lick the hand that feeds them…
