Hi, this is conservative candor and I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower...
The U.S. government is spending 2 dollars for every 1 it takes in, but that's not stopping our Washington vanity kings. Case in point, the President's recent trip to Asheville, North Carolina - a beautiful mountain city arguably the most liberal on the east coast. Many people enjoy weekend jaunts to this green retreat. No one else, however, comes in a $60,000 an hour plane funded by taxpayers. When the President travels, so do his minions. That includes fighter jets, helicopters, and a cargo plane to haul all the black super cars and heaven knows how many staff and protectors. Then there's the lost productivity from spontaneously shutting down busy roadways and private businesses with the help of a million pounds of city, county, and state law enforcement officers. We hope Obama enjoyed his visit. We are not impressed with the costs and intimidating storm trooper security methods. Is the President entitled to a vacation, sure, but flying a bull to a china shop raises maturity and judgment questions - both his and ours.
