Hi, this is conservative candor and I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower...
Texas Representative Ron Paul walks his conservative talk far better than most. Nonetheless, his position on earmarks affirms that none are immune from the corruptions of money and power. Paul was one of three hungry elephants recently sidestepping the admirable GOP moratorium on earmarks. To date he's put his name to 140 million of Fed tax dollars for special interest projects. Paul defends his enthusiasm for pork and, so it appears, shrimp - he's requested over 10 million to support that industry in his district. Nothing wrong with supporting the home team Dr. Paul, but there's something wrong with using other people's money to do it. Your argument that your district should get their fair share sounds like a surrender to Washington's theft and redistribution plan. Sorry Ron, but you can't have it both ways. Complaining about waste at the same time you dip your cup into our pockets is hypocrisy. You're betraying your crown as one of the most principled conservatives we have in Washington - proving that power, pork, and possibly shrimp, are highly corruptive...
I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower and you just spent a minute with a candid conservative...
