Hi - this is Dr. Carl with today candid conservative minute...
It was a socialist preacher named Francis Bellamy who coined America's pledge of allegiance in 1892. Since that time there have been four revisions, including the addition of the words "under God" in 1954. By the reckoning of most Americans this pledge has served us well and stood the rugged test of time. Frustrated with the craftsmanship of their socialist peer, liberals have his work on their radar. Having had measurable success killing the family, school prayer, industry, our economy, and the unborn, they're going after that pesky pledge. If the past predicts the future, detached and pretend conservatives are going to let them. No. 1 on the hit list is the pledge's reference to higher authority. Socialists want to be our God and would like the competition removed from our lips, schools, and money. Here's their target - I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
