Hi - this is Dr. Carl with today's candid conservative minute...
The harbor of Charleston, South Carolina, offers a busy and beautiful reminder of America's rich history. There, as in places all over the nation, July 4th produced a host of special moments. Though the premier fireworks display originated off the deck of the U.S.S. Yorktown, at one point there were as many as six different major displays visible in the distance. It was a spectacular celebration of our day of independence - one of those times you are especially grateful to be an American. Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee once offered the challenging insight that many of today's Americans were born on third base and think they've hit a home run. When our founding fathers began the steps toward independence they didn't even have a ballpark. The torch of freedom they created is now in our hands - a light that can be renewed or extinguished in our lifetime. That's the real meaning behind July 4th. Those fireworks point beyond entertainment to the sacrifice behind the American Dream. They're a reminder of our duty in preserving a beacon of hope to a dark world...
I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower and you just spent a minute with a candid conservative...
