Hi - this is Dr. Carl with today candid conservative minute...
In 2007, former North Carolina Congressman Billy Hendon co-authored a 600 page work detailing the abandonment of American POW's in Southeast Asia. While in office he was a point man for POW recovery efforts and placed his feet on the ground in Vietnam and other countries where we may have left men behind. The work that he and Elizabeth Stewart completed illuminates a modern day trail of tears, that if true, carries a tremendous measure of shame for the politicians, soldiers, and government employees who knew of our betrayal and failed to speak up. 'An Enormous Crime' did not receive much traction on its release - America was in the middle of a new war and had little desire to look back at an old one. We should have and still need to. There are reasons to believe that our politicians and others ignored credible signs that we were abandoning living people, not just bones and memories when we walked away. We don't know if 'An Enormous Crime' is right in its claims of POW cover-up. We do know that the capacity for denial is profound when the truth has the potential to indict the powerful...
