Hi - this is Dr. Carl with today's candid conservative minute...

If you blinked, you may have recently missed a special moment with CIA director Leon Panetta.  He gently dropped a bomb in announcing there's been no meaningful intelligence on Osama Bin Laden since the "early 2000's".  Behind that little Panetta tidbit rests a series of persisting assertions from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Israel, Egypt, and a host of other sources that America's public enemy no. 1 is dead and has been for a long time.  Some are suggesting that our intelligence agencies and politicians have known, but kept it secret to keep us in a fight.  American's are accustomed to having a bad guy, and Osama fits the bill perfectly.  We're not sure about the credibility of this conspiracy theory, but we are sure about one thing - the CIA has a persisting history of bumbling around the world spending lots of money, missing cues before the fact, and overreacting after the fact.  It would be good news to learn Bin Laden has learned the truth about virgin rewards in terrorist heaven.  Bad news to find out it's been 10 years since his reality check...
