Hi - this is the candid conservative with today's candid minute...
Optimism is an admirable trait. When it's applied without a measure of realism, it's simply another form of denial. So it is with Washington leaders pretending to manage an economy whose destruction they have already assured. Per the debt they've fostered, an inevitable American disaster has already been choreographed. For an objective look into our future, concerned citizens would do well to get to know Harvard Professor Niall Ferguson. This gentleman correctly points out that in 2010, America issued 45% of the world's debt. At the same time, we are responsible for a revealing 45% of the world's military expenditures. Federal debt in public hands has doubled as a share of GDP from 32 per cent to a projected 66 per cent next year - it is destined to go much higher. Following WWII a 30% debt rate set the sun on the British Empire. Per our continued denial - pessimism suggests America's future holds much greater risks. Realism suggests how soon we restrain today's appetites with determine how well America eats tomorrow...
I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower and you've just spent a minute with a candid conservative...
