Hi - this is the candid conservative with today's candid minute...
It's no small thing to suggest a President be impeached, but that is exactly what former Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo has done - most specifically for PBO's failure to enforce immigration law. As you might expect, talking heads, including FOX news fox Megyn Kelly are pooh-poohing the idea. Students of the Constitution, conservative thinkers, and those concerned with the illegal importation of a 15 million member underclass should be saying "not so fast". The Constitution speaks to impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors - meaning misconduct by high government officials. The President's oath of office includes the statement
"I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States." The Constitution, in turn, offers that the President "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed". By that measurement, on illegal immigration, Obama has clearly failed to uphold his oath, the Constitution, and the responsibilities of his office and merits impeachment. It's no small curiosity that his predecessor, George Bush, deserved equal treatment for exactly the same reasons...
I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower and you've just spent a minute with a candid conservative...
