Hi - this is the candid conservative with today's candid minute...
In Iraq last week, a brave coward committed suicide. In the process he killed 50 of his countryman and wounded another 130 - many for a lifetime. It's no small feat to strap a bomb to your body and walk into a crowd, market, school, or mosque and mash a button to oblivion. But dying has always taken less courage than living. Suicide bombers are fearful people - their fear of failure and rejection just happen to be more powerful than their fear of death. Any man who has been in combat will tell you that fear of our peer's disapproval, not patriotism or bravery, is what motivates most of us to face the dangers. Death, war, and violence are the camouflaged hideouts of many cowards. Real men engage in violence as a last resort. It takes a whole lot more courage to figure out how to live with your fellow man peacefully than to blow him up. In this situation the really brave men were those who were standing in the police recruit line. The guy who pulled the trigger, like all thugs, was a desperate coward confusing weakness for courage...
I'm Dr. Carl Mumpower and you've just spent a minute with a candid conservative...
