Hi - this is Dr. Carl with today's candid conservative minute...

Though billions are pumped into maintaining the charade of the UN as the world's peacekeeping body, the US is wearing the real sheriff's badge.  And it's not just Iraq and Afghanistan that have our attention - we have troops in at least 135 countries.  It's a great investment in their economies - a very expensive drain on ours.  It's no coincidence that at the same time our government is absorbing 45% of the world's loans we are also carrying 45% of the world's military expenses.  We cannot remotely afford such extravagance.  Though Republicans squawk at the mention of military cutbacks, conservative thinkers know this non-conservative behavior has little to do with defending America.  Defending the pot of gold found in defense contracting and military bases is a more sincere motivator for most military spending addicts.  Our out of control military budget is putting our defense at risk by spending tomorrow's dollars today.  While our military budget has doubled in ten years, China has doubled their manufacturing capacity.  China is watching and they know who's on the better side of reality...
