Hi - this is Dr. Carl with today's candid conservative minute...
The recently passed Dodd-Frank, aka "The 2010 Lawyers and Consultants Full Employment Act" is rife with opportunities for abuse by regulators and crony capitalists alike. It's 2300 page length is proof that government can't regulate itself, much less private competition also trying to steal our money. The length of this bill is all the more revealing when compared to our U.S. Constitution. Everything in our founding document, including the Bill of Rights, fits comfortably on just sixteen pages. Though the Constitution is frequently criticized, especially by those inconvenienced by its constraints, it remains that our Constitution is a work of art. That work wasn't created to license government as much as restrain it and keep it off our backs. The fact that two guys who helped create our recent economic meltdown can push a 2300 page bill through Congress is testimony to an absence of constraint. Conservative thinkers, and others worried about America futures, should consider this 16 page read. The prescription for what ails our country can be found therein...
