Hi, this is The Candid Conservative with today’s minute on growing distractions…

Remember when you were a kid and got a boo-boo? Likely as not your mom, dad, or teacher distracted you with some version of “look over there.” It worked then, and though we’re now adults, it still does. Political opportunists are masters at this game. Sorry for George Bush fans, but this gentleman and his administration perfected the art of distraction to justify our boots on the ground adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan. The impact of those boo-boos will haunt us for decades. Liberal big government advocates love to distract us by attacking private business, conservatives, Christians, and anyone else resisting their socialistic agenda. Fortunately, distraction is an escape from reality, not a replacement. A trip for a vehicle tag, a tax question, a social security card, unemployment, food stamps, or a mail stamp reveals that government works poorly at best. Adults embrace reality and resist looking over there.
