Hi, this is The Candid Conservative with today’s minute on doing war nicely…

By now you’ve seen the pictures of the Marines relieving themselves on the dead bodies of former Taliban members. The video’s gone viral, as has the political correctness meter. Sorry guys, you can kill people, but you can’t wee-wee on them. If you do, you should not be dumb enough to video the event. Still, if we’re talking real dumb, that label would be more accurately applied to public officials with an overactive mouth than twenty-year old Marines with overactive bladders. Hysteria is marketing this event as a tragedy instead of just a little stupidity. Cutting off heads is a tragedy. Suicide bombings in churches is a tragedy. Using religious zealotry as cover for stoning women to death is a tragedy. An unprincipled politician is a tragedy. Disrespecting the bodies of your enemies – that’s just stupid. But nowhere near as stupid as the leaders who sent these proud young men to that crazy place in the first place.
